Backup to Flash Drive / External HD
- Open Finder, go to file or folder and drag items to flash/external drive or copy file or folder and paste file to flash/external drive
- Holding the Command key while clicking on files or folders will allow you to select multiple files
- To select multiple files in a row, select first file, hold Shift, select last file
IPhoto Picture Backup for entire library
- Copy library to flash drive or drag to burn folder
- Library is located in Finder, Pictures, name: iPhoto Library
- Copy to flash/external drive or burn
iPhoto Picture Backup to CD or DVD for selected photos
- Only to archive photos for viewing in iPhoto (can not be viewed on a Windows computer)
- In iPhoto, Select photo library, albums, or individual photos
- Choose Share>Burn
- Insert CD or DVD disc in an external CD drive
- Type a name for disc
- Click Burn button
- Click the Burn button in the Burn Disc dial
Creating a CD to viewed by Windows or a photo processing company
- In iPhoto select the albums or photos you want to burn to disc
- Select album or photos and choose File>Export to export to a folder on your computer
- Follow above directions for burning to a CD or DVD
Backup iMovie to another file format
- Open iMovie and select movie, Share>Export Movie to desired location
- Copy file to flash drive or burn
Backup Bookmarks in Safari
- Select File>Export bookmarks
- Select and save to desired location
- Copy file to flash drive or burn
Backup from iTunes library and purchases to flash/external drive
- Copy iTunes Folder to flash/external drive
- Library is located in Finder, username, Music, name: iTunes
- Copy entire folder to flash/external drive
Deauthorize a computer for iTune purchases
- To play purchases from iTunes Store, you must authorize the computer. You can have up to 5 authorized computers at a time. Before you turn your computer in, you need to deauthorize your computer.
- Store>Deauthorize This Computer
