Senior Scholarship Available

We want applications from both male and female student athletes who exhibit excellence in the classroom, on the playing field, and within their communities. Eligibility for application is limited exclusively to men and women whose senior year of high school is the 2013–2014 academic year, who have at least a “B” grade average, and participate in at least one of 27 sports. We want to hear from all student athletes who work hard, are dedicated, and have become role models for underclassmen.

Student Schedules

Our administration and guidance staff has worked very hard on our master schedule and student schedules this summer. Due to the continuous efforts of our staff we have again been able to keep class sizes at an appropriate level and offer as many engaging electives in addition to our core courses. Student schedules will be mailed home the week of August 19th. Your schedule will reflect the courses you verified in the spring during the registration process. Again our staff has done the best they can to meet those requests and have made personal calls to families where there has been a need for major changes. Based on these efforts and the limits on movement, there will be no schedule changes. Thank you for respecting this necessary move and we are certainly here to answer any questions you may have upon receipt of your child’s schedule.

Tennis Practice Week of Aug. 5

Laptop Training Nights

All parents are required to attend a brief training before your child may receive a laptop. We have created a brand new training to provide you with more up-to-date information regarding care for the laptops, coverage of damage, internet safety, digital citizenship, and the components of the Responsible Use Policy (RUP).

Parents need to come to the Mooresville High School Auditorium, participate in a brief training, and sign the RUP. We will also collect the $50 usage fee, payable via check, cash, or online. Online payments can be made ahead of time by visiting the MGSD website at http://www.mgsd.k12.nc.us.

The trainings will begin at the scheduled time, and those who arrive late will have to wait for the next available session.

When: August 19, 20, or 22

Where: MHS Auditorium

Time: 5:30pm OR 7:00pm each night

What to bring: Method of payment & a pen

Remember that all parents must attend one of the training sessions listed below or your child will NOT receive their laptop the first day of school. Your child does not have to be in attendance with you for this training; they will receive their training during the first week of school.

Open House

Open House will take place on Tuesday September 3rd from 5:30pm-7:00pm. At this point, our teachers will have had a week to get to know your child. Please mark your calendars and make plans to attend so that you can meet each of your child’s teachers. It is a floating event, so you may come anytime that is convenient for you within the allotted timeframe. Building a relationship with your child’s teachers early in the semester is vital to their success.
